Dear San Ramon Valley Unified School District Community,

Despite a strong community effort, I am saddened to share the news that Measures E & F did not pass the 2/3 required voter threshold for passage. On behalf of the Board of Education, I want to express our sincere gratitude to all those who worked tirelessly to support the passage of these measures. While we are extremely disappointed by this outcome, we want to assure you that our commitment to the quality education for which we are known remains unwavering.

Measures E & F were critical to preserving essential services in our schools. They would have allowed us to maintain vital programs by renewing and extending a local revenue source to help support high student achievement, ensuring that our local schools remain among the highest performing schools in the nation. Non-passage of these measures means that we now face significant challenges in maintaining the high standards of excellence that our community expects.

As we move forward, it is important to recognize that the State budget picture is bleak, and we anticipate a significant loss in state funding. Compounded with a vote to not renew our expiring Parcel Tax, our district will be facing some very difficult financial decisions in the weeks and months to come.

Despite this setback, we want to express our deepest gratitude to our dedicated teachers, administrators, and classified staff who continue to work tirelessly on behalf of the students we serve. Your commitment and dedication to our students are truly commendable, and we are grateful for everything you do.

While the road ahead may be challenging, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing the best possible education for every student in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. We will continue to explore all options and work collaboratively with our community to find solutions that ensure the success and well-being of our students.

San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) is one of the highest performing school districts in the nation, with more National Blue Ribbon schools this past year than any other district in the State or nation.

Fact: Our local schools are supported by $6.8 million annually from an existing voter-approved local parcel tax measure that is set to expire in 2025.

Fact: The annual revenue from this measure allows SRVUSD to fund 56 teaching positions.

Fact: In the next two years, $6 million in one-time State-funding for SRVUSD will expire. This funding supports programs that ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed academically.

The Board of Trustees of SRVUSD placed Measure E and F on the May 7, 2024 ballot for voter consideration.
