The Academic Talent Program (ATP) is a magnet-class program with specific entrance criteria. It is made available to the children who fall into the exceptionally gifted category. The two magnet classes are located at Montair Elementary School for 4th grade and at Creekside Elementary School for 5th grade.

The ATP offers students the opportunity to work in a setting where their talents and abilities are challenged. The curriculum is fast paced and complex, the kind of challenge that motivates achievement in the highly gifted. In this program, independent study and differentiation are the norm. The teachers also encourage the children to learn to work together as well as to value their own unique abilities.

Eligibility to apply to the ATP is dependent upon a student having a CogAT age-related Composite score in the 99th percentile or equivalent on a district-approved abilities test. Students who do not meet the ATP application criteria may be retested (see GATE Testing/ Retesting Dates).
