Enrollment information
Welcome Kindergarten enrollment for the 2010-11 school year will be held from January 11 through February 19, 2010.  Please refer to the 2010-11 Kindergarten Enrollment forms folder located in the box on the right to access the necessary forms needed to enroll at your school of residence.  Please contact Educational Services at 925-552-2914 if you have any questions regarding enrollment.  The timeline for enrollment is listed below.

January 11 - 22, 2010 - Reservation Cardholders Only - Creekside (CR), Coyote Creek (CK), Hidden Hills (HH), Live Oak (LO), Quail Run (QR).

Families who received a reservation card back in October 2008 must report to their resident school with completed enrollment forms, proof of residency and the reservation card to enroll.  These students with a current K-5 sibling at their resident school will receive a first priority. Others with a non-sibling reservation card will receive second priority.
If you do not enroll during this window of opportunity, your reservation will be canceled and you lose your priority.  You will need to enroll with other new families starting on 1/26/10.

Your reservation card will not be valid for the 2011-12 school year.

January 26 - February 5, 2010 - All schools - Siblings (other than reservation cardholders)

Current resident parents of entering kindergartners who have a sibling currently in grades K-5 at the school of residence should go directly to the resident school with completed enrollment forms and proof of residency.  These receive first priority at their resident school.
CR, CK, HH, LO, QR children receive a third priority based on the number of reservation cardholders who enrolled at their school.

 February 8 - 19, 2010 - All schools - No Siblings

Current resident parents of entering Kindergartners without an attending sibling should go directly to the resident school with completed enrollment forms and proof of residency. These receive second priority at their resident school.
CR, CK, HH, LO, QR children receive a fourth priority based on the number of reservation cardholders who enrolled at their school.

The assignment to a morning or afternoon kindergarten takes into consideration many factors, including parent requests and the need to balance classrooms with both boys and girls, as well as with older and younger children. Each school will establish its own criteria for morning or afternoon placement. Questions related to kindergarten enrollment procedures will be answered by contacting your school's office.

  • If the sibling was diverted to another school, the parent may choose the school of residence OR the diverted school as the resident school for sibling priority registration.
  • In addition, incoming kindergarten students with a sibling in an elementary Special Education class outside the resident school may choose the school of residence OR the school which the Special Education sibling attends as the priority school.
  • This does not apply in those instances where the older child is an intradistrict or interdistrict transfer or in an alternative program.
  • A lottery will only be held at a school if there are more enrollment packets returned than spaces available.
  • Students moving into the area after February 19, 2010 will be placed on a wait list and not included in the lottery if a lottery is necessary.
Eligibility for admission requirements:
  • The child must be five years of age on or before December 2, 2010.
  • At the time of kindergarten enrollment, an original certified copy of the birth certificate, passport, or baptismal record must be used to verify the student's birth date.
  • At the time of enrollment, proof of complete immunization records must be verified. It is required by California State law that all students have complete records of immunizations prior to entering kindergarten. Children will not be admitted to a classroom in the fall unless the immunizations are up-to-date.
  • The San Ramon Valley Unified School District requires a child to have a physical examination prior to entering kindergarten. At the time of kindergarten enrollment, parents are asked to provide the school with the scheduled appointment date for the physical exam. Children will not be admitted to a classroom in the fall unless the physical exam has been completed. Examination between March and the start of school meets both the K and 1st grade examination request.
