Local Education Funding
Renewal Measure of 2024
Measure Q - $144 Parcel Tax
Commencing July 1, 2025 for nine years
Since 2004, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District has been fortunate to receive generous support from the community through voter approved education parcel tax measures.
SRVUSD is one of the highest performing school districts in the nation, with more National Blue Ribbon schools this past year than any other district in the State or nation.
Parcel tax funding provides a local, secure, stable source of revenue that the District can count on every year. This money stays in our local schools and cannot be taken away by the State. This renewal measure continues to protect academic excellence in our schools by continuing $6.9 million in local funding that our schools rely on every year.
The proceeds of Measure Q shall be authorized to fund:
- Attract and retain highly qualified teachers
- Support academic programs in science, technology, engineering, arts, math, reading, and writing
- Prepare students for college and careers
- Maintain technical, vocational, and career training courses
- Support programs in reading and literacy for the youngest learners
Measure Q also includes the following accountability provisions:
- All money raised by the measure would be controlled locally and cannot be taken away by the State.
- An independent citizens oversight and mandatory annual audits
- No funds for administrators’ salaries or pensions
- Homeowners age 65 and older and individuals with disabilities are eligible to receive an exemption
- The measure expires June 30, 2034 and cannot be renewed without voter approval
Exemptions:

Fiscal Accountability & OversightThe Parcel Tax Oversight Committee (aka PTOC) was established by the Board of Education of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, pursuant to the passage of Measure "C" in 2009. The purpose this committee is to provide oversight that ensures parcel tax funds are applied only to authorized purposes as outlined in the Measure. The PTOC continues to monitor the expenditures of Measure "Q" funds and reports annually to the Board and community on how these funds have been spent.
