Development Impact Fees
San Ramon Valley Unified School District collect School Facility/Development Impact Fees pursuant to Government Code Section 65995 et. seq. and California Education Code 17620. School districts are authorized to levy fees on new residental and commercial industrial develop,ent to fund the school facilities necessary to accomodate the students from new development.
Effective July 1, 2026 - a Certificate of Compliance "COC" must be completed and signed by the appropriate agency before an appointment for payment to the school district can be made.
Please follow the process outlined below:
- Download and complete Section 1 of the Certificate of Compliance
- Permitting agency (City, Town, County) completes Section 2
- Make an appt with SRVUSD to pay necessary fees and receive completed COC
- Return to the permitting agency to obtain building permit.

Exemptions are allowed for the conditions listed below. Download and complete the Exemption Form and attach to the COC.
- Residential construction <=500 sq. ft.
- Development used exclusively for religious purposes, private schools, or government owned/occupied property
- District/developer Mitigation Agreement

Please note: Persons paying developer fees may request an audit of fees collected and may file a written request to be notifed of the school board meeting to review the annual and five-year reports.
***** NOTICE - Increase to Level 1 Fees*****
At the meeting held on September 10, 2024, the Board of Education adopted an increase to the Level 1 School Facility/Development Impact Fees for Residential and Commercial/Industrial construction. The increase became effective on November 9, 2024.
Residential was $4.79 and is now $5.17 per sq. ft.
Commerical/Industrial/Senior was .78 and is now $.84
