Teachers for Tomorrow

Teachers for Tomorrow Residency Program A teacher credential program offered in partnership with Saint Mary’s College with support from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing

We are excited to announce SRVUSD’s Teachers for Tomorrow Residency Program in partnership with Saint Mary’s College.

What is the Teacher Residency Program?
Teacher residents will work in one of our schools during the 2025-26 school year with support from experienced SRVUSD mentor teachers. They will gain hands-on experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and student support.

SRVUSD’s partnership with Saint Mary’s College will combine a yearlong classroom apprenticeship with an aligned sequence of coursework. Teacher residents will earn a credential upon completion of the program.

Benefits of the Teachers for Tomorrow Residency Program:
  • Stipend of $32,500 for tuition and expenses
  • High-caliber mentor teachers for each resident teacher (more information to come for SRVUSD teachers who may be interested in serving as mentors)
  • Individualized support and mentorship
  • Guaranteed substitute work two days per week for the 2025-26 school year
  • Priority hiring upon completion of the program
  • $500 towards reimbursement of exam fees (RICA, CalTPA, CSET, etc.)

We are proud that the district has been awarded a two-year grant by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC), which will fund the entire Teachers for Tomorrow Residency Program. The district will not need to use any current budget or funding for this program.

We have 20 spots open for the 2025-26 school year -
